Does your retail site need a boost?
A good marketing strategy can bring you more traffic to your retail site. But 68% of companies say that their biggest marketing challenge is generating website traffic and leads.
If you’re one of those business owners looking to get more traffic to your site, this is the perfect opportunity to revisit your current marketing strategy.
Good marketing tactics lead to more site visitors, and more site traffic eventually leads to more money in your pocket.
Which marketing strategies are the best? There are tons of different marketing strategies out there for retail sites. So, it can be difficult to figure out what works and what doesn’t work.
Here are four of our favorite marketing tactics to keep in mind when developing your retail site:
1. Create a newsletter
It takes a lot to gain a customer, so don’t let them go without some reminder of your store.
Make sure your newsletter content is visual and that it’s easily shared. This helps your current customers share your store with their friends — also known as your future customers.
2. Create visual advertisements
Paid advertisements on social media or through Google are a great way to get your business name out there. This is especially true if your store is just starting out.
Potential customers will respond best to visuals, so make sure your ads are clear and eye-catching. Display your product clearly so there’s no guess work involved as to what your stole is selling.
Also, keep text limited since customers will respond better to visual content than plain text.
3. Use social networks often
It seems like everyone is on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter these days, so your retail site needs to be as well.
But since these spaces are so crowded, it’s not enough to just send out one Tweet or post to Facebook every month. You need to use social media but use it well.
This means posting high-quality content and images, especially on Instagram. Update your content as often as you can. Ideally, at least a few times a week for Facebook and daily for Instagram and Twitter.
It’s also important to engage with your customers as often as possible to create a positive brand image. Respond to them and like their content back. This will keep them coming back to your site time and time again.
4. Offer special promotions on your retail site
It’s no secret that customers love freebies and promotions, and they’re great marketing tools for a reason.
Offer coupon codes as often as you can. Another idea is to offer a contest to win free items, in exchange for following on social media or signing up for your newsletter.
This helps you easily expand your social network, for just the price of one small item.
